ASEV has been created in 2002 by 26 founders (municipalities and social partners of the Empolese Valdelsa district with a mixed public private capital. Its main mission is to promote the economic, cultural and social development of the Empolese-Valdelsa area. Its activities include planning and managing of: vocational training courses; educational, vocational and professional guidance; courses and activities related with university education; services to promote employment, also in cooperation with local public employment service; cooperation with local schools in education activities and teachers’ training. Since 2003 ASEV has established an intercultural Centre http://www.centrointerculturale.it/that organizes courses of Italian as second language, training of teachers in intercultural issues, welcoming projects for migrants, field research on immigration, mediation of intercultural conflicts. The CSS is second biggest private college in Lithuania and has gained the reputation of an advanced institution both among local community and regional business sector. VHS Cham is a registered, non-profit association in Upper Palatinate (Bavaria), which acts on the regional level and engages 47 fulltime employees plus about 250 freelancers. It provides courses in the fields of social life, vocational counselling and training, languages, health protection and cultural programmes. Furthermore, VHS Cham carries out vocational preparation courses and state-run Vocational Schools for Geriatric Nursing and Physical Therapy. VHS Cham has a long term experience of course development with a particular focus on language and culture (136 courses and 1280 participants per year) and features high experience in organising language courses for groups like young adults, senior learners and people from rural areas. Additionally, especially migrants benefit from the various German integration courses which help them to cope with life in Germany and gain better professional prospects. Another great part of activities is directed to young deprived people, especially unemployed youths, who get the chance to get new qualifications and are provided vocational information as well as trainings.
